Year 4/5 Camp Update

14th June 2021

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Due to changes communicated to us last week by Kooljamon Resort at Cape Leveque, the students will no longer be able to sleep in the beach shelters that the school reserved earlier in the year.  We understand and share everyone’s disappointment with this, however our camp will still go ahead with many of the same activities, and just with some slight changes to the sleeping arrangements and duration of the camp.

We are very grateful and lucky that Sacred Heart School in Beagle Bay have agreed to host us for the camp, with no cost.

Please see the updated information below regarding the upcoming Year 4/5 Camp:

Depart Derby6am Monday 16th August
Arrive back to Derby4pm Wednesday 18th August
Where: Sacred Heart School, Beagle Bay
Cost : $200 per student to cover activities, staffing and other expenses.  This will be added to school fee invoices and can be paid with your school fees.
Sleeping arrangements: Students will be split into 2 classrooms at Beagle Bay school and will sleep on the floor in the rooms in their swags (boys and girls separated).   Monday and Tuesday are pupil free days at the Beagle Bay school so our students will be able to leave their stuff set up until early Wednesday morning.
ShowersThere are limited shower facilities at the school.  The students will have access to buckets, taps and hoses with fresh water, and they will be swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday, with beach showers available on those days to rinse off.
