Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival

28th February 2020

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

The Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 6th March at the Derby Memorial Swimming Pool. The carnival will begin at 8:30 am and conclude at approximately 1:00 pm. All children in Year 2-6 who can confidently participate are expected to swim for their house and join in the friendly competition. The Swimming Carnival is made up of individual races, novelty events and relay races. The aim of our Swimming Carnival is to provide all students with an opportunity to take part in an inclusive, enthusiastic and fun environment.

Students are encouraged to wear their school house colours. Students must wear appropriate footwear pre and post the carnival and bring their bathers, goggles, towel and a hat. Sunscreen will be available and I would recommend that students apply sunscreen at the beginning of the day. Students are encouraged to bring food and have a water bottle with them. There will be a sausage sizzle at the pool, where students can also purchase food.

Students will walk with their class teachers to the pool at 8:10 am sharp. After the carnival has finished, students will be taken back to school on the school bus before the conclusion of the school day. A child can leave the pool with a parent/caregiver once the carnival has finished if a parent/caregiver is present to sign off the class attendance list.

Students are not permitted to wear colour in their hair or texta on their body. However, students can wear zinc and their schoolhouse colours in the form of appropriate clothing or decoration at the carnival.

The success of the swimming carnival hugely relies on the support of staff and parent/caregiver helpers. If you are able to assist on Friday 6th March in any shape or form, please fill in your details below.

Thank you,
